Ismail Reveals Preparations for Stabilizing Conditions in Darfur

North State Forces Capture JEM Detachment Heading for Khartoum

Security forces in the North State said they have clashed with a JEM force on its way to Omdurman along Dongola road. A North State military source revealed that the force, a detachment of the troops that attacked Omdurman, had in its possession anti-aircraft and anti-tank weapons.

Ban Ki-moon condemns the sabotage attempt against Omdurman

United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has condemned the sabotage attempt by the rebel Justice and Equality Movement against Omdurman area. Sudan Permanent Envoy to UN Ambassador Abdel-Mahmoud Abdel-Halim pointed out that Ki-moon called in a statement he issued for immediate cessation to the aggression and solving the problem by peaceful means.
