 over Normalization and Lifting Sanctions
Khartoum – Mona Al-Bashir
Government of National Unity delegation concluded its one-week visit to Washington during which it participated in Naivasha Peace Supporters Conference organized and sponsored by the US Administration.

Presidential Advisor, Dr. Ghazi Salah Addeen affirmed after the delegation return to Sudan that the conference achieved it objectives through supporting of the concerned parties to the course of the CPA implementation.
Ghazi added that his talks in Washington were limited to CPA implementation and the Sudanese/American bilateral relations, affirming that the dialogue with the US Administration will continue and the normalization issue with USA is still pending.
He said that Washington admitted that the normalization step is delayed, adding that they demanded the US Administration to play a mediation role in dealing with the Sudanese issue and the bilateral relations.
Ghazi affirmed the US Administration desire in Sudan's unity adding that the Americans are supporting this trend but without any violation to the Southerners right to practice their right in self-determination through the  2011 referendum.
He pointed that the differentiated issue between the two partners was the population census which the SPLM sees that it was not fair and the figures of Southern Sudanese population in the north were suspicious.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ghazi affirmed that the two parties accepted the monitoring of Norway for oil production and revenues distribution affirming that GoSS received up to now US$7.3 billion from oil revenues.
News from Washington revealed that Senator John Kerry told Dr. Ghazi that the US Administration is working out a plan to cancel the sanction imposed against Sudan besides lifting Sudan's name from countries sponsoring terrorism.
Ghazi, who seems to be optimistic over Kerry's statements, said that Kerry expressed great understanding on the situations in Sudan, adding that the latter did not confirm frankly lifting the sanctions, but he hinted that the US Administration was inaccurate in its evaluation when imposing the sanctions.
Ghazi, who was addressing Arab Correspondents League in Washington, that Kerry called on the armed movements and neighbouring countries to inter into talks with the Sudanese government, pointing that he (Ghazi) told the US Administration that sanction imposed by Washington affects the ordinary Sudanese citizens not the government besides it did not lead to any failure in the Sudanese economy.
