Verbal letter from President of Central Africa Republic to President Al Bashir
Posted on Thursday, October 29 @ 00:05:00 UTC by admin

 Khartoum-Mohammed Abdallah
The Central Africa Republic's committee on the follow-up of the decisions of the political dialogue, headed by the head of the committee, information officer, and the spokesperson for the committee, arrived yesterday in Sudan accompanying the President of the Central Africa Republic, technical advisor to the committee.

Sudan foreign affairs' spokesperson Muawia Osman Khaled said the delegation carried a letter from the President of the Central Africa Republic to his brother Field Marshal Omar Hassan Al Bashir. Khaled stated that the delegation briefed the President on security and political situation and the progress of the implementation of the decisions of political dialogue in the Central Africa Republic.

It is worth mentioning that Sudan is a party to the political mechanism seeking to achieve a political stability in Central Africa Republic which recently witnessed political tensions.

The foreign affairs spokesperson denied any existence of political motives behind recent kidnapping operations in Darfur, adding that such operations are not targeting a certain country in particular; brushing aside the kidnappings would have negative repercussions on Doha talks.

Regarding a report by African elders' panel, headed by Thabo Mbeki, Khaled said the government is positively dealing with various items of the report with some reservations on certain points.

On the other hand, he denied that Sudanese authorities had barred a Nigerian delegation. Khaled stated that such a delegation was due to arrive at 12 p.m. yesterday but their flight was delayed due to repair works in the airport.

The delegation was scheduled to visit Sudan yesterday to meet Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir, Speaker of Parliament, and later to check on Nigerian troops operating in Darfur with the United Nations –African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).
