NEC Decides to Extend Voting Process for Three Days

The National Elections Commission decided that the voting process for voters would be for three days instead of one day in order to allow the largest voters to cast their ballots for their candidates.

The Deputy Head of the Commission Prof. Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah said that the holding of the elections in three days will like one day affirm that the said process will be done by international, regional and local monitors and under supervision of the Commission itself indicating that they received several monitoring applications from the civil society organizations.
 

During his meeting with Al-Gedarif Governor, Prof. Abdullah explained that his Commission will close the polls at the end of the day and stamped by representatives of the parties and supervising officer while the process of sorting begins the next day.
 

Prof. Abdullah affirmed his Commission’s keenness to run free and fair elections that will lead to the required democratic transformation that will deliver peace, security, and stability to the Sudanese people.
 

He called on all political forces in the country to raise the awareness of the voters so that they can choose their representatives in the said elections.
 

Prof. Abdullah reviewed his commission’s efforts saying that it is an independent commission.
 

He also met in Al-Gedarif State with the representatives of political forces and tackled the electoral process.
 

On the other hand, the Commission member General (Police) Abdullah Ballah Al-Hardallo affirmed the secure of the elections with accordance to the plan and strategy set up by the security committee.
