Islamic Dawaa Organization … Years of Achievements

Since its establishment before thirty years Islamic Dawaa Organization (IDO), remained giving top concern to Africa and the ecotones in the residence state. Its activities also extended to cover Central Africa Republic.

The Organization runs more than fifteen internal missions in the residence state, Sudan, in the following areas; Khartoum, Omdurman, Sharq Al-Neel, Jezira, Eastern Sudan, Western Kordofan, Kadugli, Nyala, Renk, Raja, Juba, Malakal, Bentiu, Damzain and Bahr El-Ghazal.
In these centers the organization offers Dawaa, health and social services.
IDO is an Islamic, voluntary, charitable, non-political and international organization that aims at giving information about Islam and the progress of African societies by providing them with their basic needs in the fields of water, health and relief services and Dawaa regardless of the religious or ethnic backgrounds of the beneficiaries.
The Organization was founded in 1980; its policies are set by a board of trustees chaired by Field Marshal, Abdurrahman Mohamed Hassan Swar al-Dahab, the ex-president of the organization and includes sixty members from the Arab and Islamic countries such as; Qatar, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait , Bahrain , Egypt , Libya, Nigeria and others.
In its thirteenth annual meeting of the board of trustees scheduled on the tenth of February, the organization will embark on studying the future prospects in the light of the changes associated with Dawaa and relief works around the world including the pressure on the organization working in this field under the claims of supporting terrorism. Such issue has led IDO to give consideration to planning, resources development and investments so as to make use of the profits of these sides in funding its activities.
The IDO proved itself as a pioneer when it has established Al-Sabbah Hospital in Juba besides running specialized hospital for women in Khartoum, Sara and Ghaneima hospital.
In the social sides IDO founded through its social branch, the African charitable association for women and children care, the first village for children in eastern Sudan which was funded the Kuwaiti Women's Commission.
 

IDO runs its work in Africa via eleven regional offices which cover more than thirty countries besides to Cairo educational mission in addition to the social work in the fields of students' sponsorship, health, education and preachers.
The organization has also very good relations with the regional and international agencies. In this regard it had signed a protocol with the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) since 1994 and recently the IDO's director of the board of trustees, the General Director of ISESCO, Abdulaziz Al-Towaijri and the Federal Minister of Education has signed an agreement in Khartoum to implement a new package of joint programs for the years 2009 and 2010.
IDO also has very good relations with various organizations such as Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah, Discover Islam center in Bahrain, Turkish Union of NGO's and International Islamic Council for Dawaa and relief in Cairo. IDO is carrying on joint projects with theses organizations in more than thirty African countries including Sudan.
In Dawaa side the organization had constructed more than 1100 mosques in Africa, Balkan countries and the Islamic republics in Asia.
The organization also gives much consideration to the training of imams and preachers  besides providing them with the needed sponsorship.  The Institution of Training Imams and Preachers of the IDO provided training to more than 8712 preachers in all the states including 6363 women preachers particularly in the ecotone areas besides the training of more than 500 preachers from Darfur.
 IDO also offers Hajj opportunities for the African Muslims and the newly converted to Islam besides distributing the holy Qur'an in addition to translating the principles of Islam into the local languages of Sudan.
In the education side the organization has paid special attention to kindergarten for the sound upbringing of children. IDP also paid special attention to schools and Islamic seminaries. The African organization for education of the IDO runs more than 102 basic schools that offer education to more than 53396 students and fifteen secondary schools in which more than 4577 are having their education including 2616 girl and 1961 boy. Out side Sudan IDO has more than 364 educational institutions in the field of public education where more than 60846 student are having their education besides five schools in Kenya, Mauritania, Turkey and two university colleges in Nigeria and Tanzania.
The organization also has three centres for the rehabilitation of children and two centres for rural development.
