Government Close to Conclude Framework Agreement with LJM

Khartoum - Staff Writer Sudan's government is close to reach a framework agreement with Liberation and Justice Movement, LJM, State Minister for Culture, Sports and Youth, the government's head of delegation to Darfur peace negotiations in the Qatari capital of Doha,
Ameen Hassan Omar announced. Omar said he was not concerned with Justice and Equality Movement's, or JEM, refusing position on such agreement.
Learnt sources said Vice-President, Ali Osman Taha is likely attend the ceremony of signing the framework agreement between the government and Liberation and Justice Movement.
Mediation parties in the negotiations demanded the view of the government's delegation on how to organize direct negotiations whether through negotiating committees or via other forms, Ameen said in press statements.
Liberation and Justice Movement is made up of eight armed movements, which had declared unification during negotiations on Darfur peace in Doha last week.
Earlier last month, Sudan's government had signed a framework agreement that included a ceasefire with rebel Justice and Equality Movement.
Worth noting that Presidential Advisor, Dr. Ghazi Salah Adeen, in charge of Darfur file, had earlier held intensive talks with the leader of Justice and Equality Movement, Dr. Khalil Ibrahim, in the Chadian capital of N'djamena, on contentious issues regarding Doha peace negotiations.
Justice and Equality Movement, or JEM, affirmed that their call for delaying the forthcoming general elections was on top of the agenda of meeting between the Movement's leader Dr. Ibrahim and the presidential advisor Dr. Salah Adeen held in N'djamena.
Suleiman Jamous, leading figure in JEM, yesterday told UN Maraya FM radio that they [JEM] felt signals of the government's acceptance to delay the upcoming election. Jamous further demonstrated his movement's commitment to the necessity for delaying elections to ensure a genuine stability nationwide, according to him.
