Arab League Delegation to Monitor Elections Arrives in Khartoum

The Arab League delegation to participate in monitoring elections in Sudan arrived yesterday in Khartoum. In his meeting with delegation headed by the Special envoy of AL General Secretary to Sudan, Salah Halima,


the Undersecretary of Ministry of foreign Affairs, Dr. Mutrif Sidiq welcomed the regional and international monitoring describing it as a very important mechanism for consolidating the fairness of the election.
He lauded the AL stance and its response to participate in monitoring the elections.
Sidiq explained to the delegation the circumstances surrounding the running of the elections in Sudan saying that it requires sound understanding to the workings of the election process affirming that Sudan is very keen to run the election in its specific time.
He went on saying that the National Election Commission as, an independent body, will provide the monitors with all the needed facilities.
On his part the Special Envoy of AL General Secretary, Salah Halima, briefed the Sidiq, with missions of the delegation and its meetings with the regional missions including AU and number of leaders of political parties.
