Children account for a large percentage of the income-poor and the severely deprived worldwide. At least 600 million children under the age of 18 around the world are surviving on less than $1 a day; 40 per cent of these children live in developing countries. Every second child in developing countries is deprived of even the minimum opportunities in life.

Political Accountability should be Assigned to Jurisdictions


Social accountability approaches are broad range of actions and mechanisms beyond voting that citizens can use to hold accountable the state and providers of public services. These approaches could be as simple as pressuring local governments to publish budgets, or more complicated, such as participatory budgeting or social audits where citizen groups inspect, for example, public procurement policies and processes.

Civil Society: IDCS: Youth Contest for Critical Thinking Research
Last month  (28 July, 2011) the Institute for Development of the Civil Society  (IDCS) of East Nile  College  organized a forum  to shed light on the youth and students contest  for critical thinking research and writing which have been launched  last March  by the IDCS. The aim was to promote critical thinking among the youth and students.
