Ex- Arab Bar Association Secretary General, Prominent Sudanese Law Expert, Political Activist, MP, Farouq Abu Issa, in an exclusive statement to Guds Press, warned of the consequence of dealing with the ICC, considering its resolutions against President Al Bashir and some other Sudanese nationals as grossly hazardous to Sudan's security and stability.

Therein, Abu Issa underlined his dismissal of surrendering any Sudanese national to the ICC. He said, "In my capacity as the Secretary General to the Arab Bar Association, I used to urge the Arab rulers to join the ICC with which I was totally convinced. But, the present international political environment within which the ICC is operating renders its moves against Sudan as risking the overall security and stability of the country, hence, the surrender of any national to this Court will escalate such risks. Therefore, I hereby, announce my rejection of any interaction with the ICC, given the double standard dealing that I had witnessed with my very eyes when I was a member to the Defense Board during Lockerbie case prosecution.  So, I hereby, would like to advise not only the Sudan, rather, all the Arab States to refrain from dealing with the International Criminal Court."
In another development, Abu Issa denied the Sudanese Media report of last Tuesday to the effect that he has been elected member to the Communist Party Executive Committee, saying, "I, similar to other participants, have only been invited for the opening session of the Party Convention. He added, " Later I heard what was reported on the press which was absolutely inaccurate as I have no connection with the Convention whatsoever.  The news was baseless and fabricated stuff."
Nevertheless, he lauded the activity of the said Convention describing it as a political achievement in favor of Sudan at large.
He commented, " I attended the said Convention session which was an outstanding political event that bestowed pride on the Sudanese folk and ascertained that democracy is will entrenched in Sudanese political arena. The session reflected the level of tolerance prevalent in Sudan which should be attributed to the virtues of the Sudanese people who are well shielded with their heritages, traditions, human and religious values."
Abu Issa further considered the convening of the Convention a quality step in respect of Sudanese political practice, given that the Party had been engaged in clandestine operation for over four decades, noting that now the Communist Party is collaborating with other political powers against the ICC.
